Karen Hiser Weaver etc
Inspired by the beauty of the natural world: tapestries that celebrate the glory of colour, texture and pattern found in nature.
One day, on holiday in Northern France, I found myself in an incredibly old and impressive forest. And I looked up. The power within these trees to be able to stand, feed themselves, offer shelter to other creatures - and yet the delicacy with which they don't cross boughs with their neigbours. I call this one Exuberance and Shyness. It's big, it's complicated, and, as much as I am loving weaving it, I want to finish it now!

Where can we catch up with you, Karen?
I am lucky enough to have a studio at the wonderful Westbury Arts Centre, a beautiful 17th Century farmhouse in a lovely peaceful garden setting - yet still resolutely within the city of Milton Keynes.
There are nineteen studios here, and my fellow artists range from painter to printmaker, from jeweller to sculptor.
We resident artists throw open our studio doors to visitors during the many open day events throughout the year: keep an eye on the Westbury Arts Centre website, and here too.
If you would like to visit and see what I am working on in-between open studio events, you would be very welcome: drop me an email or social media message and we will see what we can arrange.

What about workshops?
Watch this space! I am planning a number of one-day workshops and shorter taster sessions in 2026, at Westbury Arts Centre or nearby. To register your interest in future workshops, please fill in the Contact Form using the link below.
